FUTURE HOST HOME Are you a future host home for a Christian Band member? On Friday, April 30th, the MSC will host “Out of Hiding,” a Christian Band from the East Coast. They will bring a great mix of original and well known Christian music that will encourage and inspire us as we worship together. They are in need of host homes while they stay with us. Would you be interested in spoiling one or two members in your home? That will include meals and opening your home to make their stay comfortable and memorable. Specific details are coming, but if you know you can host one or two people, please let Tatyana know today.
SAVE THE DATE! The Kansas Speedway fundraiser is May 1st and 2nd. This is the main fundraiser for the youth and children’s ministries. Please talk with Pastor Stan or Allison if you can help or have questions.
MEXICO TEAM MEETING There will be a mandatory Mexico team meeting today after service for those going on the mission’s trip. We will meet in the Fellowship Hall and lunch will be provided. If you are unable to attend this meeting, please talk with Pastor Stan.
MEXICO MISSION LUNCH Sunday, April 25th, the team traveling to Mexico will host a Mexican lunch. The cost is on a donations basis (whatever you can give!). Come share a great meal and make a difference at the same time! Sign up at the kiosk so that we can plan accordingly.
EXIT 2:9 Next week, April 18, after service, there will be a free lunch for any and all college-aged students in the Fellowship Hall. Join us for a delicious lunch and meaningful conversation. Hope to see you there!
OUT OF HIDING WORSHIP EVENT Out of Hiding has never fit in to the typical rock band box. The group was born out of a hunger to express the reality of Jesus through music. Their songs blend alternative rock anthems with honest, hard-hitting lyrics to create a unique and powerful experience. The desire of every Out of Hiding event is to touch the heart of the Creator and build a platform for real life change for all who attend. We have the privilege to host Out of Hiding, here, at the Mustard Seed Church. April 30 will be a night of impacting worship and a time in the presence of our Lord. Join us at 7:00 pm as we worship the One who created us.
JIM’S PLACE CHANGES After reviewing our operating expenses with the coffee shop, we discovered we are financially going deeper in the hole each week. The original intent was never to make money but simply cover our operating expenses with coffee. Our coffee related costs have gradually gone up over time but we have absorbed the extra expenses plus the addition of fresh fruits to the menu. For months, and even years, Doris Douglass, and more recently Wes Cook, graciously donated their own money and time to bake fresh breakfast breads each Sunday morning to satisfy hungry appetites but they too have felt the effect of rising costs. Our church is growing and changing – so the coffee shop needs to change as well. We will continue to provide fresh coffee, fresh fruit, and baked goods but it has become necessary to begin charging for all items in the coffee shop menu at a modest increase in the cost of coffee itself, beginning in the month of May. Again our goal for the ministry to be self sufficient plus show appreciation for the people who are continuing to give so generously of their baking skills. Thank you for your understanding as we make this necessary transition.
