A lot has happened with Susan and she has a lot to share with us about her time spent as a missionary in Honduras. There will be a reception for Susan immediately following the church service next week, May 23. It will be a time of connecting with Susan and hearing her report on how the Lord is working in Enlaces & in Susan. There will be a light lunch provided by the Mission Board.
PENTECOST SERVICE We will be having a special evening Pentecost Service next Sunday, May 23rd, at 6:30 pm, in addition to our regular morning service, for anyone who would like to attend. Do you need a fresh touch and infilling from the Holy Spirit? Do you desire to receive the Baptism in the Holy Spirit? Come for a time to have your heart renewed by God’s Spirit.
CHURCH WORK DAY June 5, from 8 am to 1 pm, we are having another work day at the church. The work will be done outside. This is a great time to spruce up the church, get to know one another and spend some time in the fresh air. If you have any questions, please see Steve Batten. See you there!
EXIT 2:9 Today, after service, we are offering a free lunch for anyone of college-age, whether in school or not, in the Fellowship Hall. Join us for a hot, delicious lunch and meaningful conversation. Hope to see you there!
A PLACE TO SERVE Edye Cable has been very generous in giving people who can’t make it to church on their own rides every Sunday morning. Every once in a while she is unable to do so. We are looking for someone who would be able to provide rides every once in a while. The church van would be available. If you are interested, please see Tatyana in the office.
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL Save the Date! VBS will be Monday, June 21st – Friday, June 25th from 6-8:30 pm. This is for children that are four years old through 6th grade. More details to follow.
SCHOOL’S OUT PARTY! Connection youth ministry is sponsoring a School’s Out Party this Wednesday, May 19th at Holcom Park from 6:00-9:00 p.m. for junior high and senior high students. Youth groups from Wesleyan Church, Christ Community Church and Clinton Parkway Assembly of God have been invited and will be joining us! This will be a cookout with lots of games, activities and hangout time. Make plans now to attend and invite your friends. Invitation cards are available at the kiosk. Pick some up today.
PEACEFUL WARRIORS The women’s Bible study, that meets Wednesdays at 9:30 AM, is breaking for the summer and will resume meeting in September.
DIVORCE RECOVERY A new 13-week course will begin this Thursday, May 20th, at 6:30pm at the church. This group helps those recovering from the trauma of divorce or separation. The cost of the course is $20. Partial scholarships are available. Childcare is available for a small fee and must be coordinated with Lynnett Beck at 785-633-1892.
HAITI MEDICAL RELIEF TRIP DVD If you have requested a copy of the update Dr. Alan McBride and Pastor Paul Taylor gave on their trip to Haiti, please see Tatyana to pick it up. If you weren’t able to make it to the meeting and would like a DVD, let Tatyana know and one can be made for you. They are available for a donation of $4 each.
PARTNERSHIP CLASS The next Partnership Class will be Sunday, June 13, after the morning service in the Fellowship Hall. Come learn about our history, leadership and ministries. Lunch will be provided. If you’re interested in the class, please sign up at the kiosk so we can plan accordingly.
