John the Baptist said Jesus would be the One that would baptize believers in the Holy Spirit. Jesus told the early disciples to wait until He baptized them in the Holy Spirit. The day of Pentecost was the first evidence of the Baptism in the Holy Spirit. And then we see various examples throughout the book of Acts of new believers being baptized in the Holy Spirit. Jesus equated it to receiving God’s power. It is not the same as salvation or water baptism. The Baptism in the Holy Spirit is a separate impartation given by God to empower the believer to live a victorious life and be an effective witness of Christ to this world.
