Come to the church at 5:00 pm with a side dish, a friend and enjoy burgers, hotdogs and homemade ice cream. There will be plenty of laughs, games and watermelon seed spittin’ contests. See you tonight!
INTERNATIONAL POTLUCK Today’s international potluck, usually held at the Kihm’s, will be meeting at the church at 5:00 pm for the church 4th of July potluck. Please bring your planned dish to the church with you tonight.
SERMONS TO GO Getting the sermon has never been easier! The newest addition to our media distribution is the ability to subscribe to the MSC Sermon or Worship podcast within iTunes. Instructions on subscribing to the podcasts are available on the church website under the Sermons or Worship page.
OUT OF THE OFFICE Pastor Paul will be out of the office July 11-30 for a conference and vacation. If you have any questions for him, please contact the office at 785-841-5685.
LEO CENTER FOOD DRIVE We have a great opportunity to reach the city of Lawrence. This year many families have been struggling with finding jobs, paying for utilities or finding a meal to feed their children. We can help out in a big way. For the entire month of July, we are collecting food to donate to the Leo Center. This month, when you stop by the grocery store, pick up a few extra cans and boxes of food. We are blessed and now is our chance to bless others. All donated food can be placed in the trailer in the lobby.
CHILDREN’S CHURCH Grade school children that are going into the 1st and 4th grade in the Fall should promote to the next children’s church level (either 1st-3rd grade class or 4th-6th grade class) this summer. There is not one designated Sunday that this occurs because some children are ready to promote before others; we encourage the promotion to occur sometime before the school year begins but leave the timing to the parent’s discretion.
Children in the nursery program promote on a quarterly basis based on age and parents will be notified by Kara Stegman, the nursery coordinator, when that occurs.
SUMMER ALPHA There are only 2 weeks left in the Summer Alpha Course, but all of the dinners have been supplied. We want to thank everyone who helped out. It may not seem very important, a small way to help out, but it greatly affects those who receive from us. We are excited to see what God has in store for those in the course.
WORSHIP TEAM OPENINGS! Have you been waiting for that perfect moment to try out for the worship team but never felt as though that moment would ever show up? Well, it has! The Worship Team is looking for male and female vocalists and some instrumentalists. There is a process and some minimum requirements to get on the Worship Team. If you sense the Holy Spirit speaking to you about putting your God-given talents to work, this may be your opportunity. Contact the church office or Pastor Paul at 785-841-5685.
VIDEO MINISTRY STARTING! As a church we are entering into the video age and we will have our services recorded on DVDs. To do this we need at least one person, and then others, who have camera knowledge and video recording skills, to start this ministry in the church. Talk with Pastor Paul if you are interested. He can be contacted at 841-5685 Tuesday-Friday, 9am to 4pm. Is God speaking to you?
