LEO CENTER FOOD DRIVE What a wonderful month! Not only did we collect 2 wheelbarrows full of food, but we also collected $1,330 which helped stock up the food pantry at the Leo Center. A big thank you to those who donated either monetary gifts or bought extra while at the store. A big thank you, also, to the marriage group for purchasing food with some of the collected funds and for delivering it all to the Leo Center.

SENIOR FELLOWSHIP The Senior Fellowship (60+) will not meet in August but will begin again in September.

SERMONS TO GO Getting the sermon has never been easier! The newest addition to our media distribution is the ability to subscribe to the MSC Sermon or Worship podcast within iTunes. Instructions on subscribing to the podcasts are available on the church website under the Sermons or Worship page.

LEADERSHIP COUNCIL RETREAT August 13th and 14th (Friday and Saturday) the Connection Leadership Council will go on a retreat. There will be more details to follow. Meanwhile, talk with Pastor Stan or Allison if you have questions.

INTERNATIONAL POTLUCK Come with a friend and some food to the International Potluck at the Kihm’s home today, Sunday, July 1, at 315 Dakota Street. If you have any questions, call Ann Kihm at 841-8860.

TOUR OF LAWRENCE In just 4 weeks, Saturday, August 14th, we will welcome new Internationals with a TOUR of Lawrence and GIVE AWAY HOUSEHOLD ITEMS at the Housewarming. Your unneeded items can be someone else’s blessing! If you have furniture and you need to get it out of your house before August 14th, contact Len Andyshak at 766-3279 or revlen@ku.edu. Otherwise, plan to bring your items Saturday morning to an outdoor area near Burge Union at K.U. Detailed information is available in the lobby.

MEMBER NEED Mike Coffey, a member of our church, is in search of a living space to rent on a monthly basis from a home owner. Ideally the living space would be a basement/lower level of a house. Mike can be contacted at kuguy1@hotmail.com or 841-3848.

FAREWELL RECEPTION August 15 is Pastor Stan and Allison’s last Sunday here at the Mustard Seed. In honor of all they’ve done and meant to us individually, we are holding a reception after service on the 15 in the Fellowship Hall. Finger food and snacks will be available for everyone. Come share a moment with us as we say goodbye.

PRAYERFUL NEED One of the mission areas supported by the Mustard Seed Church is Bridges Ministries/Enlaces Con Cristo in Comayagua, Honduras. This mission is lead by Currie & Sandi Burgess and is the mission that our own Susan Smith works in. This past week a medical condition with a young Honduran woman, who’s been on the mission staff a long time, became an emergency requiring surgery, hospital stay, and finally ICU care as she slipped into a coma. The woman’s condition was very critical and a call was put out for healing prayer. This call was answered from all over the USA and beyond. Prayer worked a miracle as the woman improved and has come out of the coma state. She faces additional surgery and prolonged care and recovery time. Currie & Sandi ask for continued prayer support that was so important in her improvement. The Honduran medical system demands payment as you go, and even with insurance the cost to the mission will be over $10,000! The mission is asking that as you pray for the healing touch of Jesus on this young woman’s life, that you will be in prayer whether God would have you assist in the financial needs. If you make a monetary donation, please earmark it “Enlaces Medical Need.”
