LIFELINE FAIR Today is the last day you will have access to all of the LifeLine groups and their leaders. Ask them questions, get an idea of what their curriculum is and get to know them! This is a great opportunity to see where God wants you to get involved in the life of the church.
FALL ALPHA SESSION Alpha is starting up again on Tuesdays beginning September 7th through November 16th. Are you interested in being a part of this evangelical ministry? There are many areas in which you can become involved: attendee (bring a guest!), leader/helper, kitchen help, prayer partner, driver (for KU), cook, greeter, sound, etc. Along with the course, we will take a retreat to Living Water Ranch from October 22-23. Please stop by the LifeLine Alpha booth or call the church at 841-5685 or Darla Hosek at 218-8038 or 865-5350 to sign up or if you have any questions!
ALPHA LEADERS MEETING: This Tuesday, August 31st at 6:30 pm at the church, with training video, discussion and prayer. Dinner will be provided. If you’re interested in becoming a leader or helper, please see Dave or Darla Hosek at the Alpha booth.
EXIT 2:9 We’re offering you a free meal! This Sunday, after service, there will be a free lunch for anyone of college-age, in school or not, in the Fellowship Hall. Join us for a delicious lunch and meaningful conversation. Feel free to bring your friends. See you there!
FINANCIAL PEACE UNIVERSITY There will be a preview of FPU held directly after service today. The preview will be in room #1, at the end of the West hallway.
FALL CLASSES Two classes, Old Testament Survey and Life & Teachings of Jesus, being offered by Dr. Barry M. Foster, Ph.D. have met for the first week, both for audit and credit. If you’d like more information, stop by the table in the lobby and pick up a brochure, ask questions and get a feel for what the classes can offer.
MOPS MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) is starting up again in September. This year, the theme is “Momology-The Science and Art of Mothering.” An evening group is starting up on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of every month, starting September 7, from 6:00-7:30 pm. If you want more information, or want to sign up, contact Jodi Berkland at jberklan@gmail.com or talk to Leslie Mutuku.
COMING UP SEPTEMBER 19th! Wouldn’t it be great to have a special Sunday morning service that would be done in such a way to communicate God’s love to our family, friends and coworkers? Well, we are planning just such a service on September 19th. We are calling it “Invitation Sunday.” The service will have a time for “cardboard” testimonies of what God has done in our lives along with a relevant life message. Afterwards, we will have a simple, but fun, free dinner for everyone. Begin thinking about a friend, family member or coworker that you can invite. We will also be supplying more information and ways to help you invite others in the coming weeks.
ATTENTION LADIES!!! Many of you attended the “So Long Insecurities” simulcast we held here in April. We have been given a great opportunity to hear Beth Moore speak live to us again. September 18, Lawrence Free Methodist Church is hosting the “Living Proof Live” featuring Beth Moore. For more information, stop by the “Peaceful Warriors” table to pick up a flyer. If you’ve never heard Beth share or have listened to her for months, you don’t want to miss this opportunity.
