Exit 2:9. | A movement from the mundane, repetitive life we lead into an exciting, unexplainable, unpredictable life; faithfully led by the one true God. There is no temporary fix or replacement for who God is and what He does. You won’t find it; no matter how hard you look.

Brief Description of group: Exit 29 is geared toward college students and young adults who, at a transitional point in their lives, are already shaping the world as we know it. We believe this generation is chosen and set apart for a special purpose. It is our goal to provide a way out for those who are seeking more than this world has to offer and to share the love of Jesus Christ with one another in order that He may be known – on campus and across the world.

“But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.” – 1 Peter 2:9

Format of the group: January 17 we will be starting a study based on A. W. Tozer’s book “The Attributes of God“. The first week we will be studying the Journey into the Heart of God.

God is not subject to any limits. He cannot be contained within space. He cannot be measured because measurements describe boundaries. God has no boundaries. Because God is infinite, every attribute that describes Him is also infinite. There is plenty of time before and after to get to know each other a little better.

Duration: Ongoing
Day, Time & Location of group: Tuesdays, 7 PM @ the Riverfront Mall, East entrance. Entry level to your left.
Requirements: This group is open to single & married college students and young adults out of high school.

Study for January 26, 2010

1. Read Colossians 3:1-3. How does this passage relate to God’s infinitude?
2. What is God’s “infinitude”?
3. Tozer describes a “journey into infinity”. What does this look like?
a. “There isn’t just one work of grace, or a second work or a third work, and then that’s it. there are numberless experiences and spiritual epochs and crises that can take place in your life while you are journeying out into the heart of God in Christ.” (pg 3-4)
4. Read C. S. Lewis’ illustration of God’s infinitude (pg 5-6). Meditate on that for a moment. How does that make you feel about God? About yourself?
5. Tozer says that many Christians have an inadequate view of God: “This little cheap god we’ve made up in one you can pal around with – ‘the Man upstairs,’ the fellow who helps you win basevall games” (pg 7). Is this a fair statement?
6. Tozer spends a good deal of time talking about the fact that God takes pleasure in Himself and in His works.
a. Why do you think that is?
b. What is your reaction to this fact about God?
7. Read Philippians 2:5-8. What was Christ’s attitude toward His coming in the flesh?
8. What significant acts of God did Tozer say involves singing? What is the significance of singing being present at these events?
9. Read the illustration about the moon and earth of pg 15-16. What does that teach about the infinitude of God?
