Worship Ministry

Sing joyfully to the LORD, you righteous;
it is fitting for the upright to praise him.
Praise the LORD with the harp;
make music to him on the ten-stringed lyre.
Sing to him a new song; play skillfully, and shout for joy.
Psalm 33

Worship Council

Pastor Paul Taylor
{Associate and Worship Pastor}

Worship is more than singing or playing an instrument well; it’s a life that expresses genuine love and devotion for our Lord and Savior 24/7. Our contemporary worship services highlight music and lyrics which declare plainly our need and our admiration. Our desire is to follow the prompting of the Holy Spirit from the beginning of practice to the closing chorus so our offerings of praise and thanksgiving are pleasing to God.

Pastor Paul has been working with the Worship ministry since 2003. During that time he has watched the ministry become more and more unified in purpose and passion for the Trinity to be honored. In 1995, Pastor Paul was added to the full time ministry staff and has served Mustard Seed Church in multiple roles from mission work to music. In 1974, he married Barb and they have 4 wonderful children with growing families.

Chet Kueffer
{Music Director}

“The task before the worship team every Sunday is to help create an atmosphere conducive to congregational worship. My prayer is that we will never just sing ‘cool songs,’ but that we will always authentically worship the Lord.”

Chet has attended the Mustard Seed since he was 4 years old. He has served on the worship team since he was 13 and is currently the music director at Mustard Seed Church. Chet has tracked (bass, guitar, keyboards, or vocals) on over a dozen studio releases, and traveled all over the country playing music. He has also received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Kansas in Communication Studies.

Sarah Barclay
{Worship Leader}

Sarah believes connecting to God through worship is such a sacred gift and thinks that there is something to be said about corporate worship as it adds such a different dynamic. “It is so beautiful when Christ’s bride comes together to praise Him. It’s probably a very small taste of what it will be like to sing to Him together around His throne.”

She has grown up in the Mustard Seed Church and has been a part of the worship ministry close to 11 years. She became involved in the youth group worship team and later, the Sunday adult worship team. Leading worship has become one of her favorite things to do. She has been married for 4 years to the love of her life and together they have one sweet little boy.

Kaleb Weaver
{Worship Leader}

As a worship leader, Kaleb has a desire and passion to see people transformed by the power of God’s presence through music, that through song, hearts would be softened towards the Gospel.

Kaleb Weaver moved to Lawrence in 2009 to study at the University of Kansas. At the age of 16, he felt that God was calling him to buy a guitar and lead worship for his small church youth ministry and he has been fulfilling that calling ever since.

He enjoys Wild Berry Skittles, back rubs, and 75ish-degree weather. And pie.

Susan King
{Projection Coordinator}

Susan King has attended the Mustard Seed Church since 2007. Although born in New York City, Lawrence has become her home. Christ saved her at the ripe old age of 32 and she loves to express her gratitude to Him through worship.

As Projection Coordinator, Susan oversees the team who is responsible for the projected media including videos, PowerPoints, movies and songs. Having a projection ministry allows the congregation to lift their heads and their hands in worship instead of looking down at a song sheet or hymnal.  Our goal as the projection team is to enhance your worship experience without distracting you from the One on whom our eyes should be fixed.
